If bears could read, I could have written "Living with People," so they'd understand that if they don't figure out a way to get along with the two-footed neighbors, they could end up paying with their lives. Bears are very smart, so they would immediately adopt the behaviors necessary to survive.
But it's us humans who have the power to prevent conflicts with bears. And it falls to all of you who deal with people to find ways to educate, motivate, inspire, cajole and occasionally threaten them into doing the right thing. And give them the information and tools they need to do it.
