For Bear Managers

Would you rather crawl into a bear den than explain to a room full of irritable residents for the umpty-millionth time why their bird feeders and garbage are the root causes of all the "problems" they're having with bears? You're not alone. I have yet to meet a bear professional who went into the field so they could spend most of their time talking to people.
     I'm a specialist in human communication and motivation. I think of myself as a link between the experts who have all the bear information and the folks who really need it – the public. Scientific information goes in....words understood by the average resident or visitor to bear country come out. I wrote Living with Bears to make it easier for everyone working in bear research and education to connect with the human half of human-bear conflicts.
     Read Tom Beck's foreword, the table of contents, the index , and some of my professional reviews, and you'll see that I did my homework.
